Bio

I am a M.A. student in the Department of Communication. My interests include the use of quantitative research methods to better understand how interactional dynamics and perception are evolving alongside technologies that have proven to deeply engage user’s emotions, including A.I., video games, and simulations. Broadly, I am interested in the role of these technologies in mentorship, instruction, coaching (etc), and in questioning the efficacy of these as replacements and/or supplements to human mentors. For the AtLA fans out there, I am motivated by the question, “what would my life look like if I had personal, unfettered access to Uncle Iroh?”

I graduated from UC Davis with a dual degree in Anthropology and Science & Technology Studies, and a minor in Education. I have over a decade of experience working in private, non-profit, and public education, and a lifetime of media exposure that has sparked my curiosity in research. In my free time, I build and design vivariums/aquariums, play video games, host dungeons & dragons gatherings, rock climb, and go on motorcycle rides!
